Gazprom can buy 3.2 mln tns of large-diameter pipes in 2017

MOSCOW, Jun 7 (PRIME) -- Demand of Russian gas giant Gazprom for large-diameter pipes can rise to 3.16 million tonnes in 2017 from 2.46 million tonnes in 2016, Ivan Shabalov, CEO of Gazprom’s supplier Pipe Innovation Technologies, said at a forum on Tuesday.

The sales will peak in 2017 due to construction of the Sila Sibiri (Power of Siberia) and the Nord Stream-2 pipelines.

Total Gazprom’s demand for 813–1,420 millimeter pipes is expected at 13 million tonnes until 2020 with Sila Sibiri and Nord Stream-2 remaining the key growth drivers, Shabalov said.
